Under Eng Liang Tan’s guidance, Soho Global Heath has grown from being a family company into one of the largest pharmaceutical companies in Southeast Asia.

Eng Liang Tan graduated from University of Bochum, Germany with a major in Nuclear Physics, and from the Business Management School in University of Bradford, United Kingdom. His long career includes experience with ICI Pharmaceutical Division (now Astra Zeneca), Warner Lambert Inc. (now Pfizer Inc.) and Beecham (now GSK).

Robert Hendriks is the Group CEO. In this role he utilises his training as a Medical Doctor, MBA, and Graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors, as well as his senior executive experience in leading pharma, biotech, natural medicines and medical devices companies in countries as diverse as the US, Australia, Chile, Greece and the Czech Republic. He enjoys being on the board of directors of an Australian rare diseases association.

Robert’s journey to SFI Health has been both professional and personal. In his own words, “I have changed my mind on the effectiveness of natural healthcare products. I now unequivocally know, based on both clinical evidence and personal experience, that proven natural products have a significant contribution in improving health outcomes.”

Being a key architect in the building of SFI’s organisational and people DNA he cites as his greatest contribution as an SFI leader. Prior to joining SFI Health, being associated with the Government’s reimbursement of a lifesaving drug is his proudest achievement.

A passionate sportsperson, Robert’s exertions away from work include (but aren’t limited to) the enjoyment of football, baseball and above all cycling.

Gilbert Cheong Foo is Group CFO and General Manager, Asia. A UK-qualified accountant, his seven years at SFI Health were preceded by senior regional and global roles in Europe, Africa and Asia with a top 10 FTSE-listed company.

Gilbert’s move to SFI was motivated by a professional and personal desire to contribute to improving quality of life through natural medicines. Since his arrival, his contributions to SFI have been characterised by a commitment to challenging status quos and driving new and better ways of working that deliver sustainable, positive outcomes.

A proud father of three, he finds balance and quiet satisfaction from time spent reading, cooking and bushwalking

 

 

Introducing Arvinder

Group Head Human Resources

As a human resources specialist with qualifications in both HR and Business Management, Arvinder Grover takes SFI forward in her capacity as Group Head of Organisational Effectiveness.

What compelled Arvinder to make SFI her next professional destination was the opportunity to work alongside passionate people with a common purpose that she believed in herself: developing effective and widely accessible nature-based health solutions.

Since coming onboard, she’s not only witnessed SFI’s extraordinary rate of expansion, Arvinder’s guidance has been pivotal to ensuring its success.

“The company went from 48 employees to 440 employees in just 18 months, via multiple acquisitions (David vs Goliath was our theme). Contributing to building the business from the foundations up is something that will remain with me all my life.”

A firm believer in the necessity to love what you do, Arvinder is also a positive advocate for women in leadership and their executive presence at boardroom level.

Company Secretary

George Tan is Company Secretary, a Chartered Accountant with expertise in corporate governance whose career has taken him to both North America and Europe.

SFI was founded by George’s father and he’s here to ensure his family’s original ideas and principles are carried through today.

“My father wanted to build a successful international natural healthcare company, but philanthropy was part of his vision: To provide solutions, education and better access to healthcare; to collaborate and give back.”

George counts tennis – he was once a linesman for the Australian Open Men’s Final – among his passions. But the highlight of his life? The birth of his daughter, of course!

 

 

Introducing Gian Luca

Group Head of Marketing & Scientific Affairs

Gian Luca Ligas is Group Head of Marketing & Scientific Affairs, bringing to the role his extensive experience in managing local and global brands across the healthcare sector.

A graduate of the University of Turin, Gian Luca holds a Master’s Degree in Pharmaceutical Chemistry, an MBA, as well as specialist certificates in marketing and management.

Wanting to help support people’s healthcare needs with natural product solutions, Gian Luca joined SFI Health in 2014. Before this, he occupied senior management positions at Abbott Pharmaceuticals.

“I have the same passion and commitment for my work at SFI Health as the very first day I began here. What we do I find very satisfying.”

Away from work, spending time with friends and family are the balancing factors that sustain Gian Luca – topped up with as much travel as his work and family schedules can allow.

 

 

Introducing Divya

General Manager Americas

Divya Ramakrishnan is General Manager, Americas; an MBA graduate with a background in Engineering and a career spanning some of the world’s leading health and wellness companies.

Divya saw something special in the people at SFI and the principles behind the way it was run that she wanted to be a part of.

“SFI is unique in that we resolve a series of apparent contradictions. Our products are developed by taking the best from both nature and science, we run the company with both our hearts and brains in equal measure and our staff are motivated by a culture of both purpose and performance!”

It’s no surprise for such a driven character that Divya says her greatest accomplishment will always be “yet to come”. 

 

 

Introducing Herman

General Manager EMEA

Herman holds a MSc in Pharmacy from the University of Groningen and a MBA. He worked in various Multinational companies including AKZO Nobel, Mead Johnson and RB where he held positions in Sales, Marketing and General Management.

Being from the Netherlands he worked in Russia, Hungary and more than 9 years in China. He has always been intrigued about pharmacology which was a big driver for him to choose a pharmacy study path and pursue a career in healthcare. He was responsible for a number of successful product launches in China and Russia as well as for turn-around projects in Europe. SFI Health, as a leader of new developments in clinical use of natural ingredients, was a logical choice for Herman and he is looking forward to expanding the brands and CDMO organisation in many ways.
